Current Scope of Practice

William (“Bill”) Raffat Rustam has been a trial lawyer for over 20 years. His experience over the years has been quite varied, resulting in a broad understanding of various aspects of the law. In the area of personal injury, he has handled claims involving products liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability (both commercial and industrial properties), insurance issues, and trucking and automobile negligence. In addition to personal injury claims, he has defended and prosecuted matters involving breach of contract, conversion, breach of fiduciary duties, allegations of fraud, and piercing the corporate veil.

Over the years, Bill has had the privilege of representing and defending individuals, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies as well as seeking recoveries for those injured by others. He has been directly involved in trials pending in small claims court to cases in which the plaintiff is seeking millions of dollars in compensation. In addition to first and second chairing numerous cases, Bill has participated in all aspects of pretrial, including challenging experts and successfully prosecuting and defending summary judgment motions.

Although most of Bill’s experience involves cases pending in Harris, Walker, Montgomery, Galveston and Brazoria counties, he has also litigated cases pending throughout Texas. For example, he has handled wrongful death cases that went to verdict in Milam, Bexar, Smith, and Hopkins counties.
