Admitted to the Texas Bar in 1985, R. Scott Fraley has built a distinguished litigation practice spanning more than four decades. An accomplished trial attorney, he has tried more than thirty cases to jury verdict and has extensive experience defending medical liability and other civil tort matters throughout Texas.

Scott's practice encompasses a wide range of complex litigation, including insurance coverage and bad faith claims, the Stowers doctrine, truck and automobile liability, construction litigation, architects' and engineers' liability, premises liability, and wrongful death cases. Today, he focuses primarily on truck and automobile collision claims and insurance extra-contractual matters.

In addition to his trial practice, Scott is a certified mediator and arbitrator with the American Health Lawyers Association and has participated in hundreds of depositions and mediations. Known for his meticulous approach and attention to detail, he believes thorough preparation is the foundation of successful advocacy.

Born in Sweetwater, Texas, Scott has practiced extensively in both Austin and Dallas and has represented clients in courts across the state. He earned his B.A. in Plan II from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in philosophy with minors in English and computer science. He subsequently received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served on the Texas Law Review. Continuing his academic pursuits, Scott earned both an M.A. in the History of Ideas and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Scott and his wife, Lyle, reside in Granbury, Texas. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his three adult children, hiking, golfing, traveling, and is an avid follower of football, hockey, and professional golf.
